Hello Everyone!
It’s been crazy here since Thanksgiving. While working on the Spring issue of Knitter’s Magazine and opening STITCHES South 2009, we’ve been getting lots of e-mails from people about the Think Outside The SOX contest.
The last time Rick spoke to you, he reminded you that the deadline for the contest was January 1st, entries were to be postmarked by December 31st. Since then, we’ve received many e-mails from would-be participants letting us know that they'd love to enter if only there were more time. A couple of correspondents asked us if they could bring their SOX to STITCHES West instead of sending them in. Most of the e-mails wanted to know if there was any possibility we could extend the deadline for the contest.
As we read through all of those e-mails, we started thinking about our deadline and the dates for STITCHES West 2009—the end of February this year, later than we usually hold STITCHES West. We had picked the original deadline (January 1, 2009) because it sounded like a nice date. After careful consideration, we don't see why we can't extend the deadline for the contest until the end of January. We still need time to organize, index, and check all entries for judging prior to the show.
The new deadline for entry into the Think Outside The SOX contest is now January 31st, entries to be postmarked that day. We hope this new deadline gives you some time to enjoy the holidays with your families and still knock our SOX off!
